Retinal Imaging Systems
EyeTel Retinal Imaging System
For optometrists and eye care specialists, NeuroMetrix offers an innovative imaging solution, the EyeTel Retinal Imaging System. The EyeTel System assists in the early detection of three of the major causes of preventable eye disease:
- Age-related macular degeneration
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Optic disc abnormalities, such as glaucoma
The EyeTel System offers a dual imaging platform for both screening and medical imaging:
Screening
- Routine screening to obtain baseline images, typically in 3-6 minutes, as part of comprehensive eye exam
- Obtain images of optic nerve head and macula
- Generate DigiScopeTM System Report or optionally receive an EyeTel Reading Center report
Medical Imaging
- Advanced imaging, typically in 10 minutes or less, with expert telemedicine support
- Enhanced fundus imaging for early detection and tracking of pathology
- Wider field of view – including stereo imaging of the macula and optic disc
- Comprehensive report from the EyeTel Reading Center, with quality oversight provided by specialists at the Wilmer Eye Institute
DigiScope™ System
The DigiScope is an in-office system to assist in the detection of diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness among working aged Americans. It is a silent, progressive disease, affecting nearly half of all patients with diabetes.
American Diabetes Association (ADA) and National Eye Institute (NEI) guidelines recommend annual dilated eye exams for patients with diabetes – yet fewer than half receive an annual exam, leaving them highly vulnerable. Early detection and treatment can preserve vision.
Developed in collaboration with the Wilmer Eye Institute and shown clinically equivalent to gold-standard retinal photography, the DigiScope enables endocrinologists and internal medicine and family practice physicians to confidently detect diabetic retinopathy.
