Clinical Neurophysiology – February 2005

Morris A. Fisher, MD
Comparison of Automated and Manual F-wave Latency Measurements
Clin Neurophysiol. 2005 Feb; 116(2):264-9

Study Design
• 55 Subjects (80 limbs)
• Twenty consecutive peroneal F-waves were recorded on each limb using the NC-stat
• NC-stat F-wave latency results were compared with those assigned manually on the same datasets by a neurologist with recognized expertise in F-waves

Key Results
• Correlation of NC-stat F-wave median latencies to the expert’s manual assignment was 0.99
• For individual F-wave latency measurements, the correlation was 0.98
• All NC-stat results were within 5% of the neurologist’s median F-wave latency
