Neuropathy Assessment

Neuropathies are disorders that affect the peripheral nerves and occur for a variety of reasons, including nerve entrapment (carpal tunnel syndrome), systemic disorders (diabetes) and spinal disk herniation compressing spinal nerve roots. NeuroMetrix's initial neuropathy evaluation device, the NC-stat® System, has been on the market since May 1999 and is used in over 5,000 physician's offices and clinics in the United States for performance of nerve conduction studies. The ADVANCE™ NCS/EMG System is a comprehensive platform for the performance of traditional nerve conduction studies and needle electromyography procedures which is used by specialist physicians with peripheral nerve expertise.

Product Pipeline

Our product pipeline includes a system designed to deliver pharmacologic agents such as anesthetics and corticosteroids to nerves ("perineurally") in a highly precise manner. This system will be used to facilitate regional anesthesia, pain control, and the treatment of focal neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

We are also developing products for intra-operative peripheral nerve assessment and monitoring and a neurostimulation based product that promotes nerve fiber regeneration for the treatment of acute nerve injuries such as this resulting from lacerations or other forms of trauma.
