Risk Factors for Nerve Conduction Confirmed Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
in the Community Clinical Setting. A Study of 1,000 Patients

Presented at the 2004 Annual Meeting of the American Diabetes Association

Study Design
•1,000 subjects in 26 community clinical settings evaluated with NC-stat System for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN)
• Bilateral peroneal nerve conduction studies performed on each patient
• Patients DPN symptoms quantified using patient questionnaire adapted from the Neuropathy Total Symptom Score

Key Results
• DPN highly associated with diabetes duration & type, HbA1c, systolic BP and symptoms
• Rate of DPN and association to clinical factors equivalent to research studies conducted using traditional NCS/EMG
